IDENTITY AND ONLINE WRITING

BEFORE WE BEGIN...
What do we mean by online writing?
The internet has created an infinite platform for words. The data is doubling daily. As a result, digital texts are constantly being created, and have been since the internet began. In this project, though I'll focus on certain aspects far more than others, we will understand digital writing as any of the following:

- social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, you name it)
- visual rhetoric: emojis and representations of self
- emails (and personal internet communication)
- chat room discussions
- online self-publishing
- news distribution
- text messages
- blog posts
- fan fiction
- forums
I'm Kinsie's bitmoji. I'm a form of both digital and visual rhetoric, but we'll talk about me later. Right now let's talk about you. Keep an eye out for me as you read--my job is to make this as not boring for you as possible. Wish me luck, 'cause I'm gonna need it.
